Packetly is a network diagnostics app. It runs checks you start (ping, DNS, TLS, ports, traceroute, HTTP headers, and similar) and stores results on your device. This policy describes what happens to information when you use the app.
Packetly does not create user accounts. We do not operate a Packetly cloud that stores your check history. The app does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
Depending on how you use the app, Packetly may store locally:
This data stays on the device unless you export or share a report yourself (Share sheet, Markdown, or CSV).
If you allow Location When In Use, Packetly may use it only to show the current Wi‑Fi network name (SSID). Location is optional. We do not use location to track you, and we do not send location to a Packetly server.
Packetly may access your local network so traceroute, ping, and port checks can reach devices on your Wi‑Fi (for example a router or NAS). Checks run only when you start them.
When you look up a host, the app contacts that host and, depending on the tool, public infrastructure such as DNS-over-HTTPS resolvers (Cloudflare or Google, or a custom resolver you enter), RDAP/WHOIS-style registry endpoints, and Certificate Transparency (crt.sh). Those operators have their own privacy policies. Packetly does not receive a copy of those queries on a server we control.
The dashboard shows your public IP address and its network operator. To do that, the app queries public IP-echo and IP-information services (such as ipify, icanhazip, seeip, ident.me, checkip.amazonaws.com, ipapi.co, and ipwho.is). Those services necessarily see the IP address the request comes from, and each has its own privacy policy. The result is shown on the device and is not sent to a Packetly server.
Expiry reminders are scheduled locally on the device. Packetly does not use remote push notifications and does not send notification content to a Packetly server.
Pro is sold through Apple as auto-renewable subscriptions (monthly and yearly) and as a one-time lifetime unlock. Apple handles payment, receipts, and entitlement status. We do not receive your full payment card details.
Packetly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
